This work exists more to ask questions than to provide an answer or explanation. It is based on the concept of separation versus connection, the idea that there is a place where one ends, and the next, or lack of the next begins. There is a place where one word becomes another or overlaps slightly.
Where does a tree end and the sky begin? What fits into the circle of a definition perfectly and what fits only vaguely? Did God create people, places, and things as a definition to teach us and to show us Himself, or are they here primarily as an outflowing of His creativity?
The white, painted background blends into the wall behind the artwork, and the tan paper appears to flow right into the wall. The blue 'water' breaks free, emerging from the paper it was drawn on, leading us into an exploration of God's mysterious act of creation.
Inspired by the Book of Job, Chapter 38
