Easter Triptych - Print
Easter Triptych - Print
A collection of 3 individual depictions of the Christian’s Easter celebration. Easter's significance is the complete fulfillment of prophecy, the only “way” we enter into eternity with our Lord, and the most powerful sacrifice humanity has ever or will ever know.
Palm Sunday
Beginning on the left with “Palm Sunday,” the silver drops are Jesus’ tears over Jerusalem - his appointed people gone far astray are in deep need of a Savior. The circular arms of the crowd emotionally embrace Jesus with their cheering as their Messiah enters the city on a donkey.
There is a stark contrast between Jesus’ focus and what the Disciples and townspeople were thinking about. This first painting is a good reminder to tune our desires to His.
Good Friday
A representation of the suffering Jesus went through in order to rescue us from the penalty of our sin. The bottom section which is a small confined space surrounded by black darkness, pictures the separation from God, the Father, which Jesus endured because of his love for us.
Easter Sunday
This third depiction is bright white and smooth signifying perfect obedience to his father and complete reconciliation for our sin in snow white, merciful salvation. Jesus overcoming death to sit at the right hand of God his father is represented with a gold-colored ground and silver brush strokes. “He has risen indeed.”
